A Quick and Easy Chick Starter Kit
We're gearing up for more chicks this spring, and in dusting off our chick supplies, we thought we'd put together a quick list of the must haves for when you bring your chicks home. Running our own hatchery is an amazing experience. It's so rewarding to share farm life with our daughter and community both online and in person. There's a lot to it, and we hope through our efforts that we can keep these amazing breeds and this amazing way of life going. That's not to say things haven't been without hiccups. We had a batch of eggs only produce one chick. We learned that roosters are just shy enough that too small of a breeding area leads to less breeding...


Kids and Chickens- a Perfect Pair
Not that I'm biased or anything, but how cute is this? That's our farm hand snuggling an egg- "There's a baby in there!" (not yet love... soon!) Chickens are a great addition to your family. You don't need a ton, they're hardy, and easy to care for. You can hatch chicks and teach your own little farmhand the cycle of life (or, if it's too soon, grab a look a like fairly easily).
